First day of work
First day of work. Sounds like they're willing to let me work (essentially) as much or as little as I wanted. So I woke up when the Muse left, got ready, checked email, and walked out the door to catch the bus. Got there around 7:30 a.m. and worked until 12:30. I'm planning on working about 20 hrs. a week until we find out what the fuck is up with the Muse's job. Now he's saying that he wants to keep on working there a while because he's learning new things and there's some sort of interdepartmental shakedown/power struggle going on. So he hasn't given his notice. So why am I working? Well, it does help keep me from my reclusive tendencies.
The place hasn't changed. Lots of things don't work, or are old and cranky, the walk is still a pain in the...legs...when I don't catch the bus, and the people are still nice and the hours are still super-flexible. Think slinky instead of the rubiks cube most workplaces are. And since they're paying me more than I was earning as a temp, it's all good.
I got home around one, had lunch, and commenced editing. Since the afternoon is my most productive time of day, I'm not even losing much by working the mornings. I just hope I don't have to go fulltime anytime soon....
