Defining the Signal in Signal-to-Noise

I've been a bit worried about the signal-to-noise ratio on my livejournal lately. Being at least somewhat entertaining is among the goals that I've set for this space. Also, it's been a while since I've abused my paid user ability to put up a poll. However! I will be kind and put it behind an lj-cut.
