RIP Computer

Computer tech friend diagnosed computer problem: not the CPU fan or the power supply--the motherboard. FATALITY!!

...So now I need a new desktop computer. Blech. Old but reliable docked laptop will make do until I can find one. Hopefully one that I don't consistently max out the processor on. RIP, old desktop.

They are far from the best computers in the world, but I find that Dell Outlet is a nice cheap way to get a decent system.

Agreed. My laptop was purchased from their "refurbished" category and has treated me very well for over two years now.

I've also had good luck with the Dell Outlet. Just be aware that things go through there quickly - I decided there wasn't much point in looking unless I had credit card in hand.

I look through there early in my buying process to get an idea of price ranges, but like you say I don't get attached to one specific one until I'm ready to buy.
