Booze is the Devil's Lure

I had a lot of fun with the Hwa Rang Do ladies last night...and hanging out with other people afterwards.

So much fun, in fact, that my hangover woke me up this morning. Still tipsy, I staggered to the bathroom and acquired a glass of water and several painkillers before trying to go back to sleep and succeeding when the painkiller finally kicked in.

The entire day has felt off-kilter, not least because I also had to work today.

I did have fun, though!

So it wasn't just me. My hangover woke me up 2 times this morning. Once calling for vegimite and water (and asprin) and the other time simply my kidney crying out for help.

I imagine my hangover is going to wake me up in several hours again. Damned Hallowe'en parties. Damned pisco.

Is vegemite the super-seekrit Ideal Hangover Food?

It has more vitamin B than God. Like 2000% the US RDA. It really helps. And is really helping.

In other words, yes! Duly noted, and added to the grocery list.

Unfortunately it's not really imported into the US regularly (although you might be able to find it somewhere in Minneapolis). I order mine from www.thevegemitesite.com. Great stuff.

Really? I thought that vegemite was pretty easy to find in the vegetarian/organic section. For some reason, I thought that marmite was the stuff that was impossible to find.

I mean, I haven't looked recently, but I thought I'd seen it.

Now, it's not officially banned, per se; but Kraft isn't currently sending it to the US.

Only to breads and cereals? WTF? That's so bizarre...of course, so is the FDA in general.

It's basically made out of beer leftovers. Those Krafty Australians!

(also, you can tell they're descended from criminals, because the price for the stuff is absolute robbery).

So..beer gets all the bad stuff that would give you a hangover...and vegemite gets all the good stuff that would keep you from getting a hangover....

It would be the same, good stuff if they didn't pasteurize the beer. It's why homebrew is so much better for you.

So I should get a bottle of White Lightning for you for your next visit?

Mostly, I just always try to reply to comments on my livejournal, unless they are blatantly not-in-need-of-reply.

It's nice and social-feeling, that way.

that's silly. damned US government with their international plot to ban the full vitamin B complex unless you buy, you know, grains and such.

I had fun too, even though I was falling asleep by the end, probably cause I wasn't drinking enouhg ;) We need to that more often.

I don't know that more alcohol will necessarily help one stay awake...but yeah, we should do that more often!
