Type of scene: Breaking and entering, bay-bee!
Challenge(s): I also went back and worked in some sections earlier, so that was kind of a pain in the ass. Also, avoiding using the word 'shit'.
Which line is it anyways?The air was heavy with the musky scent of large cats and the earthy smell of leaves decomposing into rich soil.
Other writingy stuff: Read Writers Weekly newsletter, renewed Writer's Market subscription, updated the markets spreadsheet from Critters newsletter, and did penthius freewriting.
Notes: Sure, now I start feeling comfortable in this story, now that I'm almost done with it. I'm also thinking that I'll need to work in more background about the strictures the main character uses to guide her actions, and I'll definitely have to delete a lot of the "woe, this is my tragic past" in the beginning--some can be worked in later, but some is just plain unnecessary in this short of a story.
