A store mannequin in a mall maternity shop. The wide glass storefront window is immediately to the right of this photograph. I walked past, did a double-take, and went back to duck inside and take a photograph.

Updating the OED

NYT.com has an interesting article on the process of updating the Oxford English Dictionary (free to read, but you'll need an NYT.com log-in). Word-geeks like me will enjoy reading it.

A most excellent word, and the excerpt that contained it:

A mondegreen is a misheard lyric, as in, “Lead on, O kinky turtle.” It is named after Lady Mondegreen. There was no Lady Mondegreen. The lines of a ballad, “They hae slain the Earl of Murray,/And laid him on the green” are misheard as “They have slain the Earl of Murray and Lady Mondegreen.”
