Got light-headed and tipsy enough that I couldn't think clearly during work today. So I left, despite pressing deadline, because I just couldn't think. Given how little brainpower is required, that's sayin' something! At least I got most of the project done, and wrote out instructions so somebody else could finish the rest.

This is a most peculiar illness. There are moments of clarity, times when one feels absolutely normal. And then it swings back to feeling 3-drinks-drunk, tipsy, nonsensical, and entirely incapable of logical thought. No coughing or sinus problems, a bit of a sore throat, a few stomach problems, but mostly a strong Do Not Drive or Operate Heavy Machinery warning. I caught it from the Mad Scientist--it's kept him home from work for almost three days, so I'm guessing I won't be back until Monday.

The nurse I talked to on the phone said a few other people have had similar things, not to worry, it's not flu, and it usually lasts 5-10 days.

I'm also dealing with some of the side effects of the flu shot at the same time. What's causing what I can't sort out.

And all my muscles are very sore...except for my left leg. Bizarre. Not sure if that's a side effect of the flu shot or the double-shot of martial arts on Tuesday--regular class, with some line drills and sword work (which always makes my arms sore, seeing as how I'm a total wuss when it comes to upper-body strength), and then the full-contact training class, with lots of heavy bag work. Didn't feel that sore after class.

As far as illness go, this one's kinda fun (knock on wood). I'd feel guilty if I could concentrate that long. Whee!

Except I can't get anything done.
