New Camera!
May. 27th, 2007 04:02 pmI have a digital camera! I tell ya, step by step, our household is catching up to the present. One day we might even have high-speed internet access.
The camera decision was painful--on the one hand, I wanted something with manual focus and the ability to take low-light pictures and have the kind of control I want in a camera. On the other hand, I've learned that if it isn't something that I can carry with me wherever I go, I'm probably not going to take most of my pictures with it. And I needed something to replace my broke-ass 35mm automatic.
So I compromised and got the Canon Powershot A710 IS (with free photo printer!). It's pretty damn compact for something with manual focus, I'll say. I didn't get the zoom level that some of the automatics had, and I can't really take great low-light pictures on the automatic setting (I can on the manual, though!). There's probably some other drawbacks.
The Mad Scientist says that I shouldn't forget to mention that this purchase was based on the upcoming expenditure in film & developing for taking pictures while we're in Guatemala. Yeah. Major cost-saving measure, there. "That should be mentioned because we're going to be whining for the next six months about being poor," he says. It's true. Between airline tickets to Guatemala and a new car, my credit cards will take a while to pay off. Not that they're maxed out, though--I've got ricockulous credit limits.
Anyway, now that I've got a digital camera, what in my immediate environs do you want to see a picture of?
