I won free tickets to see Moliere tonight, so I went to Edina instead of martial arts class. I could have sworn when I entered that the showing was on Wednesday, but while I am stalwart enough to avoid trying to win tickets for events that conflict schedule-wise, I am not not strong enough to resist already-won free stuff.
It's quite good. Not great, but good. It's a fictional French biopic period piece about an undocumented segment in Moliere's life. It's about 1/5 coming of age story, 2/5 bittersweet romantic comedy, and 3/5 laugh-out-loud farce. It's a little bit long, a little bit uneven, a little bit overdone at times (yay farce!)--but entirely enjoyable. Phil totally lost his shit a couple of times. There was a lot of laughter in the theatre, and everybody applauded when it was over.
