Hennepin Spyhouse
Oct. 24th, 2009 01:56 pmI'm retreating to a coffee shop to escape the ongoing construction at my home, the construction guy's radio, and the war against the squirrels.
The Spyhouse on Hennepin (yes, there are two of them) is quite nice. Plenty of outlets, enjoyable music (if a bit loud when sitting directly underneath it), a good selection of teas, coffee drinks, and food (including hummus!), good wi-fi, and a fair amount of space. Of course, it's also quite popular, so most of that space is filled....
And biking distance from home! That's right; today was nice enough out that I biked all the way. It's the first time I've biked since I had knee surgery, and it felt odd some of the time, but mostly okay. It was a lot harder than I remember biking being. I'm way out of shape, and my knee was uncertain whether or not it should complain. Of course, I forgot my bike lock at home. Fortunately, Hennepin Spyhouse is also close to ReCycle, so I was able to acquire another one! Now I have a backup bike lock, which would also come in handy if Phil ever decides to bike.
Conclusion: Definitely worth visiting again, but probably best to keep a backup location in mind in case it's full.
I'm making editing changes to Vicesteed. It's been--a very long time. I can tell because I forgot where I was in the editing process. I was about to edit the next chapter when I discovered that there were still editing notes for this one. I should keep track of this somewhere.
