Even a paragraph or a half-hour at a time adds up. If you feel your writing is too uneven a paragraph at a time, try using that time to generate stories. At least, that's worked for me--by which I mean I at least get *some* feeling of productivity, and I'm not in any danger whatsoever of ever not having an idea to write.
