I've some in N WI and some in Michigan. Michigan = good. Wisconsin = bad. But a memorable experience. I will never forget that meal!
Do you ever go to kramarczek's? I've spelt that terribly wrong, I know. They sell polish food either mostly or exclusively, like a caferia styled restaurant and deli, but they have some good stuff kinda similar to your people's food, like pierogies with different stuffings in them, some cabbege balls of some sort, and things like that.
