Not shown: basil, and lots of it. Things were so crazy around then what with wedding festivities and houseguests and such-like that for the longest time I didn't even have any idea what I had.
Beets with Walnut-Garlic Hummus - Used beets from this delivery and the last to serve with that garlic walnut hummus dip for the wedding afterparty. The different colors of beets confused people a bit. Had too much hummus dip, so I served the rest with pita bread. It got et. Woo-hoo! In retrospect, I should have also put out a fresh veggie plate, but oh well. From the CSA: beets, garlic.
Basil - This is what happens when one's husband picks up roughly 1/3 of a box of basil from the "choice" boxes at the CSA pickup. Some of this later sprouted! I turned one cup of basil into pesto and planted one cup that miraculously routed.

Since then, I've had one other cupful root, so it seems to be random whether it will root or not. Takes about a week in water (without trimming the ends) to do it. Nifty!
Zucchini Special - From the CSA: onion, zucchini. (Also used 2 overripe tomatoes my parents gave us, as well as 2 large zucchini from Phil's coworkers.)
Chicken and Dill Souvlaki with Garlic Pita Bread - From the CSA: cucumbers, dill.
