Things not needed the night before a long drive in to Chicago and a 3-day weekend with family wedding:

Main sewer line backing up into the basement.

Phil says we'll just bloody well have to fix it when we get back.

Edited to add: That solution was unacceptable to me, so I called out Roto-Rooter and stayed up way too late so that they could fix it last night. Yaawwwwn.

Into the basement? Oh, suck. Can you get out of the house today, or does someone have to supervise?

If you call a guy and need someone to be there, I can be your girl. I'd need keys though.

The charge is the same for late-night or regular day repairs, so the guy came out that night. Which is why I was up unholy late.

For future reference, FVR gets the rooter people out almost annually. He's lately found a local guy who's a lot more reasonable pricewise than RR. Hit him up for the info if this seems like it'll become a regular occurrence.
