What are my writing goals for the next 3 months? I'm trying to do a check-in with this quarterly--the reminder to do this popped up in my calendar a month ago and I'm only just now getting to it, which is, I suppose, as much a sign of procrastination from something else I was supposed to be doing as anything else!

Previous goal, as written in my writing log, for "The BIG PLAN through November 2013":

I've written several chapters beyond the ending, though, so I think I'll also wrap up the current mini-arc, then futz with the "ending" of New York to get it to be a more satisfying ending, and make it make sure all my outlining for the second(?!) book is as clear as I can get it. Then onwards to crisis of conscience IN SPAAAAAAACE! Crap. Maybe that means I also have to actually send proposal to editor lady. Erm. Erm erm erm. Although I have to get to the replot point in Crisis of Conscience IN SPAAAAACE before I do that. Also get those benched erotica short stories onto Amazon.

HA HA HA I DID NONE OF THAT. [ <- This note added later.]

So that didn't work so great. Looking at my upcoming due dates (few) and my previous goals, here's my plan for the next three months.

1. Finish writing "You May Also Like Gas Masks." Send it through the Complete Works crit group, and optionally also through Critters/MinnSpec, depending on timing. Submit it somewhere.
2. Revise/write the new ending to Circus of Brass and Bone. [There are a bunch of sub-goals associated with this one.]

2a. Plot the new climax.
2b. Check re. long-delayed Tuckerizations.
2c. Write the damn thing.
2d. Run it through MinnSpec.
2e. Divide up into episodes.
2f. Get it posted and up.

3. Make a plan for putting out the CoBB ebook/published edition. Yes, a comprehensive plan with (my own, soft) deadlines and everything, for all the things like art, contacting people who supported this along the way, publication of the limited serial edition, release of a free ebook novella of the first part, adding in the bonus episode to the new version (and getting it critiqued, too), publicity timing, and all that jazz.

Okay, actually, that's enough. I'll be happy if I can get all that done. I may also start another short story if I need some fiction to write on while working through some of the mechanics for CoBB. Meanwhile, I will also keep up on doing crits for my various critique groups, keeping polished stories out for submission, and maintaining the market list.

5/9/2014 - Goal 1. "You May Also Like Gas Masks." Written so far: scenes 1-4, composing 5,123 words. Two scenes remaining. Generous finishing rough draft date: 5/9/2014. Editing and submitting dates depend on critique timing.
5/16/2014 - Goal 2a. Plot the new CoBB ending.
6/16/2014 - Goals 2c and 2b. Write it, and check re Tuckerizations.
8/1/2014 - Goal 2, inclusive. Get CoBB critiqued, edited, and up.
8/1/2014 - Goal 3. Plan CoBB limited edition release, with due dates. AKA goals for the next three months!
