At Cahoots, working on writingy stuff--making editing revisions on stories that will soon join the list of stories I have to keep juggling in submissions, from first print, to reprint, to somewhere that will archive them and maybe throw me a few pennies now and again. Time to get stuff done, as next week, beginning Sunday, will be all work all the time.

Interesting timing, considering I just got my last paycheck, wherein income < bills.

When I am editing my writing, I usually write out the bits I want to add in or remove or change around. At times, I will instead scribble a little note along the lines of "expand here" or "add X action." This is known as me being lazy. Or, when I stumble over these little lines weeks or months later when I'm actually making the editing changes, this is known as me screwing myself over. Hair tugging, muttering, odd faces, and brandishing fists ensue. I outdid myself on this story ("Warmth in the Cold Time", formerly known as "Goblins").

"do a bit of description of sneaking up--too absorbed to notice"

"motivate photographer to prove not crazy"

"change to horrible, life-sucking, explicit death"

...gives me a bit of a Bill&Ted's Adventures in Time Travel feel....
