Didn't Die.
Jun. 27th, 2007 07:04 amBike 'n bussed to martial arts class last night, did a double-shot of classes, and biked all the way home. Surprisingly, I'm not really in pain today, though my knees feel a bit stiff (the biking--whenever I bike, my knees ache--I blame it on an old bike that's not quite the right size for me). Of course, the second class would probably have felt like an easy class if I hadn't just had a pretty good workout in the beginner class.
This'll be good for me. Improve my stamina, make me work on my technique, get me refreshing my memory of the early material....
Discovered I need to fast-track updating and checking my notes if I'm going to do this, though--jang bong (long staff) form dived at my head from out of the blue. Urk. Otherwise, was good, and I got to be the "experienced one" a bit, which was fun. Also, I finally integrated slapping axe kick into sparring effectively, so this should be good.
Didn't plan on biking all the way home, planned on just biking to where I had more bussing options, but after conquering the first huge hill, felt like I'd be silly to stop. In retrospect, perhaps not.
