Writing Logs Resumed
Jul. 9th, 2007 11:22 amI stopped posting daily writing logs even when no actual writing occurred a while ago. This has not been good for my productivity. It's a small step from "Well, I only read a bunch of newsletters and did submissions today; nobody wants to read about that," to "Well, I only did a little writing today and it's not that interesting and I want to go watch TV now." Guess what? Turns out that the discipline of posting a daily writing log, documenting what I did or did not do, actually really helps me to be focussed and productive. Keeping it, but not posting it online? Not as useful. Intellectually, I know that most of you won't read these--I mean, they're mostly pretty boring--but the possibility seems to be enough motivation.
Writing Log
* Read AbsoluteWrite newsletter - good article on Freelance Writing Bidding Sites (http://www.absolutewrite.com/freelance_writing/fast_freelance_writing.htm)
* Made editing changes to "Health" from redmarking--and damn is it a lot of small, finicky edits. The end result is barely recognizable.
* Read FundsforWriters newsletter
