Doctor Says, See Another Doctor
Nov. 8th, 2007 10:10 amMy doctor's appointment got me a thick ace bandage wrapped around my knee, instructions to ice it down twice daily, a cane, and a referral for an MRI next week. The doctor said that yes, it was probably a tear (weird--didn't feel like when I've torn a muscle before), and perhaps the dreaded ACL tear. It will probably be swollen and difficult to move for 4 more days to a week, and the MRI will tell us whether it'll heal on its own (yay!), or will need surgery (boo!).
At first the doctor thought it was horribly swollen. Then she saw my other knee and realized it was just fairly swollen. But there are squishy protrusions that aren't usually there.
I don't know what I was thinking of when I started doing martial arts before I had health insurance. Am certainly grateful for it now.
All I know about using a cane, I learned from watching House.
