Adventures in Domesticity.
Mar. 23rd, 2008 12:27 amI can cook, really I can! And I can bake, really I can! But apparently my bread-fu is weak.
Notes to self:
1. Do you really think it's a good idea to try something at the last minute?
2. Check the rising time before you *start* something that you won't *finish* until 1 AM.
3. Maybe try something easier next time, like basic rolls.
The yeast either didn't activate properly or died young. It rose, but only a little, nowhere near what it was supposed to. And the fruit totally didn't want to be worked into the dough, so I just pressed it on top. And the dough didn't want to stretch to form a wreath, but I made it. And I tripled the liquid in the frosting, which might have been a bad idea.
I don't know if this will even be edible.
But damn it, I tried.
To make Easter bread, that is.
Next time, I'll try something easier.
