[No picture this time because I wasn't actually here when it was picked up. Instead, I was at CONvergence. Yes, I'm still playing catch-up.]

Contents: Garlic Scapes, Green Leaf Lettuce,Purple Scallions, Snow Peas, White Turnips, Swiss Chard, Strawberries. New this week: snow peas (which I'm very fond of), Swiss chard (which is stunningly gaudy).

What I made
Chicken Piccata-ish - Swiss chard variation Chicken Piccata-ish, a variation - Swiss chard, 2 garlic scapes. Swapped Swiss chard for spinach, garlic scapes for garlic, lemon juice for 1 lime, and cider for white wine. The original recipe is best, but this was still good and quite pretty.
Salad, mashed turnips, and fried kielbasa Mashed Turnips and Potatoes with Horseradish Bread Crumbs - 2 scallions, turnips, and the last of the preserved horseradish. Not that great.
* For the same meal, used the lettuce to make a salad with lettuce, carrot, cheddar cheese, and croutons.
Strawberry and yogurt freeze-pop Strawberry freeze-pops of my own devising - after the first few days, used remaining strawberries for smoothies and freeze-pops.

  • 14:32 The cats are of the opinion that in this weather, the only thing to do is to sprawl over any cool surface and nap. It's hard to disagree.
  • 15:59 Just picked a pint of sun-warm raspberries from my backyard. Feeling decadent.
