The Difficulty of Defining Beauty

Everybody has their own particular definition of beauty, and it is a remarkably difficult thing to pin down. From a movies perspective, my definition is made of those directed by people like Wong Kar-Wai, Guillermo Del Toro, and Jeunet. Just watched 2046....

Date: 2006-11-13 06:18 am (UTC)I have sort of an allergic reaction to rape scenes in movies, etc.--they make me extra-cranky and prone to insisting that the entire male half of the species is evil and bad. The Mad Scientist prefers me when I'm my "normal" cranky self.

Date: 2006-11-13 07:53 pm (UTC)With seeing the first movie, yes, I think it is quite good. The plot is more episodic than overarching, which might be frustrating for some people. The writing and acting are very good, with one noticeable exception....
It does, however, lack a satisfying resolution.
