Verdict: Not a bad popcorn action/sci-fi movie, but not noticeably better seen in theatres than rented later. Worth putting in your Netflix queue.

Yes, the movie's theme is tied in with terrorism, but not in the way you think, despite the opening sequence. So don't let that make you grit your teeth and stay away.
It's a science fiction thriller set in the panopticon world that we live in. An everyman underachiever and an everywoman mom are forced into a "terrorist" plot that may endanger even (gasp!) the president, as are others they encounter along the way. Branded as terrorists, they have to survive and follow mysterious instructions.
Of course, they're entirely passive for pretty much the entire process, which makes everything less interesting.
Given the material this story works with, it's amazing how the script manages to avoid doing anything unique or noteworthy with it. It's not bad, it's just not great. On the other hand, you'll enjoy the whole experience a lot more if you pretend that the entire movie is set in the Terminator universe.
