Drs apt soon.

I fully expect to be told I'm having lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions (practice ones that mean nothing).

Phil fully expects me to be told that I'm on bed-rest.

But it's pregnancy! Anything could happen! Flying monkeys could come out of my cervix!

Edited to add: And the verdict is--nothing. Nothing's going on, nothing to see here, folks, move along. (No flight-capable monkeys.) Baby is still ridiculously high up and not making any plans to come out soon, despite whatever discomfort I may be feeling.

No they couldn't.

It would take at least several minutes for their wings to dry sufficiently to provide flight capability.

"Flight capable monkeys may come out of her cervix", not "monkeys may fly out of her cervix".

Ideally just the one monkey, and ideally it will be caught in mid-flight.

And the first time you see him acting eager for food, you'll realize just how accurate that "monkey" statement is. Sometimes it is *so* obvious that we're primates.

If it's flying monkeys, can we get pictures?

Obviously if the spawn turns out to be a flying monkey that reduces name choices to Dorothy for a girl and Oscar (aka Oz) for a boy...

Crap...I was hoping for the flying monkey spectacle presided over by the proud mother shouting "Fly my pretty! Fly!" Alas, we're left with mundane reality and yes...nothing to see here...nothing at all...moving on....
