Words today: 230
Total words: 230
Reason for length: Starting a new project and not having written on anything at all (other than writing exercises) in weeks? Beginnings are always bad for me, and this was worse. I'm talking forty-five minutes to write one freakin' paragraph. Fortunately, things (so far) always improve once I get up and running. I also spent large amounts of time today in cleaning the house and working on taxes. Yargh.
Overused word: Were there enough words to have an overused one? I don't think so.
Gratuitous word: carapace
Type of scene: Fight with the boyfriend.
Challenge(s): Beginnings. Avoiding writing in the first person.
Which line is it anyways?A gray winter twilight was falling over Minneapolis; suicidal snowflakes dashed themselves again the windowpanes.
Other writingy stuff:

Notes: This is going to be another "barely on the edge of fantasy" story--modern fantasy, urban fantasy, what have you. It's also the first story that I've set where I actually live. "Ice Mother, Blood Mother" is based on this freewriting exercise.
